Never Miss a New Post.
Hey, I'm Grace and I am a recovering hypocrite. I'm 25 and split most of my time between dancing professionally, helping people to find joy in movement and trying to save the world. This is where you guys come in- I can't do this alone. So delve in and join me in our fight for survival.
OF THE MONTH
Alongside my research during the UK lock down, one book I have been reading is Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari. Dr Harari's writing spans the whole of human existence, from the very first homo-sapiens, through the cognitive, agriculture and scientific revolutions to a post- human future. Issues faced thousands of years ago are still prevalent today and reading this book alongside my research and self-education in black history and then capitalism was eye opening and thought provoking. It showed me that humans are capable of terrible devastation, but also incredible feats of survival and that the constructs and systems we place so much trust into, are imaginary. The people of today have come a long way, but we still have further still to go. Let us lead with compassion and love for this planet we have called home for so many years and live in harmony with the nature our ancestors were so quick to destroy.
A great read if you have any curiosity about human history and how we got to where we are today, and where we need to make changes to ensure a better future.
